Although many patients are referred by their family dentist, it is not necessary. A large portion of our practice is referred by patients who have benefited from orthodontics. Every smile starts with an initial consultation!
Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet with Dr. Drew Herion and our staff, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your 60 minute initial consultation, we will:
- Take a digital x-ray to show you your teeth
- Provide a complete oral exam to determine whether treatment is necessary, the ideal time to start treatment, and estimate how long treatment will take
- Help you understand treatment options and create an individualized plan
- Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment arrangements

What happens after the initial consultation?
You’re one step closer to achieving the smile you’ve always wanted! Following an initial consultation is an appointment for orthodontic records. Complete diagnostic records typically include study models of the teeth, photos you’re your face and teeth, and x-rays. This information is used to refine the details of your custom treatment plan. Records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment. Braces are typically placed in one appointment. Additional shorter appointments may be needed for fitting lab fabricated appliances such as expanders. Invisalign clear aligners are given after a model of your teeth is taken in the office and the aligners are created in a dental laboratory.
Scheduling Regular Appointments
You will be visiting our office approximately every four to eight weeks during your orthodontic treatment. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are as convenient as possible. When scheduling appointments, please let us know what days and times work best for you.
Financial Arrangements
Our front office coordinator with discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We want to create a financial arrangement to suit your budget. We offer payment plans to spread your costs over a period of months. We offer discounts for payment in full at the start of treatment and for immediate family members of current or past patients. We accept assignment from most insurance plans and we will file the necessary forms on your behalf to your insurance company. Finances should not be a barrier to a beautiful smile!
